Meet the Montana Steele Interns: Nicole Di Carlo

Part 2 of our Meet the Interns series with our second intern of the summer, Nicole DiCarlo. Each summer Montana Steele welcomes interns to our offices for some hands on experience into the world of marketing and advertising. This year we’re happy to have two undergraduate students from Western University here working alongside our team. We’re always grateful for their hard work and assistance especially during the busy season of project launches and campaign presentations!

Think you’re up for the intern challenge? Get in touch to learn more about working with us.

What are you studying in school?
I’m studying business management and organizational studies with hopes to attend Richard Ivey School of Business in 2014.

Why marketing and advertising?
I have a keen interest in this field due to the influence it has on everything around us. I’m a visual person and love the design and colours associated with creating advertisements. There is so much to marketing and I enjoy the variety it has to offer.

What did you want to be when you were a child? How about now?
I always wanted to become a vet because of my love for animals. Now though I’m looking towards becoming something involved in the marketing and advertising field of business.

Tell us a bit about what you’ve been learning so far as an intern.
There are so many components involved with creating anything from ads, signs, websites or even business cards, and I’ve been able to see first hand the process of starting a project and the tasks involved on order to complete it. I have learned the importance of communication and the relationships you build with those working alongside you.

Besides interning at Montana Steele, what else are you looking forward to doing this
summer?
I’m looking forward to spending as much time as I can outside playing tennis, soccer, golfing, going to concerts or bike riding.

Coffee or Tea?
Definitely coffee. It’s what I need to get my day started. However, I do enjoy having tea in the evening.

What do you hope to get out of your internship experience?
I hope to get a lot of hands on experience. It’s the first time I have had the opportunity to be immersed in the marketing field and see exactly what goes on. I hope to continue to learn and understand the business and see what it truly has to offer.

If I was an iPhone app I would be…
Instagram. I love taking photos and having the ability to share them with friends and family. I take my camera with me everywhere I go and enjoy capturing my experiences.
